Deadline is April 9.

Winners will also attend the ASBPE Awards of Excellence banquet. This dinner honors the best in the business press.

Scholarships pay for the conference registration and meals, the awards banquet, as well as a hotel room for two nights. Transportation to and from the conference, nonconference meals, and other costs are the responsibility of the winners.

Winners will also receive a free one-year membership to ASBPE, if they are not already members, and will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the conference. Additionally, winners will report on conference seminars for the member newsletter.

“We’re trying to generate interest in ASBPE and encourage younger editors to stay in the editorial side of business and trade magazines,” said ASBPE treasurer Frances Richards, who heads up the scholarship committee. “ASBPE has offered the scholarships for three years now, and we find that the winners begin to take a more active role in the Society. Several are active in our local chapters and have become chapter officers as well.”
