Azbee Awards of Excellence
Now, enter online
New submission process will save
time, money. NEW DEADLINE: FEB.
22
To make the Azbee
Awards of Excellence submission process more efficient,
ASBPE is accepting complete electronic entries
for our annual competition, for the first
time ever.
Although entrants still have the
option of sending hard copies, most categories
are now available for entry online.
This change is expected to make the
entire process more efficient and cost effective
for both ASBPE and entrants. It will
involve less work for entrants, cutting down
on preparation, packaging, duplication
of forms, shipping time and expense, and
material costs.
While design award categories
will still require hard-copy submission of
actual entries, submission forms for the design
division may still be done electronically.
Digital entries will remain virtually
unchanged,
except that submission of forms,
URLs, appropriate passwords and other
information will also be entered online.
The electronic entry process is described
fully on the Web site and entry brochure, but here are
some of the important
highlights:
- All registration information will be
entered online.
- Statement describing mission, readership,
enterprising work regarding the entry,
and entry significance will be submitted in
the online forms.
- Entries themselves will be submitted
via low-resolution PDF attachments to the
online form.
- Payment can be made online through
credit cards. (Payment by check will also be
accepted for online registrants.) Payment
receipts will be sent automatically through
e-mail, once registration is completed by
the submitter.
You can get more answers to questions
about preparing and submitting entries here.
In addition, ASBPE will be hosting a webinar to
provide an overview of the new process on Jan. 18.
ASBPE staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
Fees
As an incentive, those who choose to submit
online will pay a lower entry fee than
those who submit hard copy.
Member and nonmember entry fees in most
categories are as follows:
- For members, a fee of
$75 will apply for entering online and $85 for entering
hard copies.
- For nonmembers, the
fee is $95 for online and $105 for hard copies.
For the Magazine of the Year, Web Site
of the Year, and Multiplatform — General Excellence
entries, fees are:
- ASBPE members: $95 for
online entries; $105 for hard copies
- Nonmembers: $135 online; $145 hard
copy
Category changes Modifications have been made to several
of the award entry categories.
- In the print magazine division, the “
News Analysis” category will now
be
called “News Analysis/Investigative.”
- In the print newsletter division, a
new similar category has been added: “News
Analysis/Investigative/Research.” In
addition,
the category originally titled “Original
Research” within the print
newsletter division
will be eliminated. The “How-To” category
in print newsletters has been redefined
to include additional focus
on technical articles.
- In print newsletter design, the “Information
Graphics” category has been eliminated.
- In Web design, a new category will be “B2BWeb
Site Publication Redesign.”
Award categories
The Azbees will continue to include
gold,
silver and bronze awards nationally.
All
three awards will generally be awarded
in
the regional divisions as well.

As always, award finalists will be
notified
in advance of the national and regional
awards banquets.
For 2008, all entrants will be notified
by
