Call for Nominations:
2010 ASBPE Lifetime Achievement Award
Deadline is March 1, 2010.
Each year the American Society of Business Publication Editors recognizes a trade, association, or business publication editor whose commitment to editorial excellence has made him or her a leader in the industry. We encourage you to nominate a colleague for this industry recognition.
Nominees need not be members of ASBPE, nor must they currently hold editorial positions, but ideally will have spent the bulk of their careers in senior editorial positions or serving the industry in some significant way.
The criteria for the award include:
- significant involvement (25 years or more) with business publications.
- a commitment to editorial excellence.
- a commitment to the business/professional press.
- a commitment to the industry(ies) nominee ’s publication(s) serve.

- Jan White, designer, teacher, and “visual
journalist”;
- Stan
Modic, senior editorial advisor,
columnist,
Nelson Publishing;
- Don
Ranly, professor emeritus,

J. McGovern, founder
and chairman, International Data
Group;
- Dana
Chase Jr., chairman,
Dana Chase Publications, and editorial
director of Appliance magazine;
- Howard
Rauch, editorial consultant;
- Vernon
Henry of Advanstar Communications; and
- Bernie
Knill of Penton Media.
