DEADLINE EXTENDED: ASBPE Opens 2018 Young Leader Scholarship Application Process

If you are 30 years old or younger, have spent at least two years in B2B media, and plan to continue working in the industry, don’t miss your opportunity to apply for the 2018 Young Leader Scholarship competition. Each year, a panel of judges selects a small group of winners, who each receive a free registration to the national conference and awards banquet and a two-night stay at the conference hotel. This year, the national conference will be May 10-11 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. To enter the competition, you must fill out this application, write essays, be sponsored by your chief editor or supervisor and submit samples of your best work. All applications are due by March 15, 2018.

The ASBPE Young Leaders Scholarship was created to foster interest in the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) by younger B2B editors, designers, and videographers who are advancing in their editorial careers. The scholarship is sponsored annually by ASBPE, and allows younger editors, designers, and videographers – who might otherwise be unable – to attend the ASBPE National Conference.

The YLS scholarships are open to all business editors, including print and Web, as well as B2B designers and videographers. Scholarships pay the conference registration fees and hotel room costs for the winners. Transportation to and from the conference, any non-conference meals, and other incurred costs are the responsibility of the winners or their publishing companies.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
> Be 30 years of age or younger (on or about March 15, 2018)
> Have worked at least two years in an editorial capacity at a business-to-business publication
> Be sponsored by their publication’s chief editor
> Plan to continue in the business press as a career
> Not be a previous ASBPE Young Leaders Scholarship winner
