HSToday’s David Silverberg dedicated his magazine’s award, for a report on violence along the U.S.-Mexico border, "to all of the journalists who have lost their lives in Mexico.”

Tom Zind Wins 2010 Stephen Barr Award
Story on noncombat deaths, injuries in Iraq called “an outstanding piece of public service reporting.”
Tom Zind accepts his Barr Award
Tom Zind’s report "A Killer in the Ranks" earned special honors in the Azbee Print Awards of Excellence. The piece explores how unsafe electrical systems caused noncombat military deaths, injuries, and property damage among American troops serving in Iraq. Judges particularly commended Zind for going beyond finger-pointing and emphasizing possible solutions to the problem.

Final Digital Skills, Strategy Research Released
Research covers 16 digital activities, 16 digital strategies, 12 leadership parameters.
The final, complete report of the ASBPE-Medill Survey on Digital Skills and Strategies is now available.
Preliminary results were released February 25; the final report contains 20 tables of data, more than 200 open-ended comments from respondents related to several survey questions, and a discussion of methodology.
