Surveymonkey.com
If you're on a low budget, this do-it-yourself survey Web site is a great help. It lets you easily design a Web-based survey, including choosing colors and adding your magazine logo at the top. You can choose from a variety of question formats (drop-down menu, check box, multiple choice, fill in the-blank). You also can create pie charts and sort the results based on any number of your survey questions, and there are also security features designed to prevent companies from “stuffing the ballot box.” It's free if you're looking for no more than 100 responses. For more than that, the fee is very reasonable.

Up2Right Market Research
The firm is a marketing research company that works exclusively with leading publishers of industrial and technical periodicals to provide customized turn-key marketing research studies. Helped develop the 2002 ASBPE Salary and Workplace Survey.

Zoomerang
Like Surveymonkey, this too is a do-it-yourself survey Web site. Fees are similarly reasonable to Surveymonkey, yet different enough that you need to compare. One feature Zoomerang offers are publishing-related survey templates to get you started with questions.
