ASBPE Selects 2018 Young Leader Scholars

For more than a decade, ASBPE has recognized future leaders in the B2B press with the Young Leader Scholarship. This year, the scholarship covers a two-night hotel stay and the registration for five YLS winners  to attend ASPBE’s National Editorial Conference May 10-11 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The judges selected the winners based on their résumés, clips, recommendation letters from their chief editors, and their essays on how they became involved in the business press, their biggest challenges as business-to-business editors, and their future career goals.

Scholarship winners must be 30 years old or younger, worked for at least two years as an editor at a business magazine or associated Web publication, be sponsored by their chief editor, and plan to continue in the business press as a career.

The winners of the 2018 scholarship are as follows:

limpert_headshot_finalKelly Limpert holds a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. She has worked for North Coast Media since 2015 and manages online content, social media, e-newsletters, video editing and more for two of the company’s primary brands and one of its ancillary brands. She was also a member of the team that took home the 2016 ASBPE National Gold award for social media presence and the Folio Eddie & Ozzie honorable mention for social media strategy.  

 

rando_headshotNicholas Rando is senior production editor for TechTarget’s Central Editorial department. He joined the company in 2014 following his graduation from Quinnipiac University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. In his current role, Nicholas copy edits and publishes articles online for all TechTarget’s media groups, focusing specifically on news and networking content. He also handles training sessions on TechTarget’s content management system and frequently makes presentations on editorial best practices, style, grammar, punctuation and more. Previously, Nicholas was assistant site editor for TechTarget’s SearchCloudComputing.com, where he wrote and edited articles focused on cloud technology.

Moriah Sargent is a senior managing editor at TechTarget, where she manages workflow and edits more than 60 e-publications a year, including about 20 e-zines. She has held various writing and editing roles during her four years at the company. One of her favorite things about editing is distilling complicated information into language that is easily understood. In her free time, Moriah enjoys conquering the highest peaks in New England and traveling to new and favorite places.
